The Odyssey of the Mind Programme was an educational programme started by Dr. Samuel Micklus in the United States in 1978. Targeted at students from kindergarten to college, the Programme fosters creative and problem-solving skills through teamwork. By developing solutions to a wide range of challenging open-ended problems, students learn how to be expansive in their thinking, while being encouraged to express themselves without the fear of criticism. The fun of participation also leads to an elevated interest in regular classroom curricula.

Working under the guidance of coaches, teams of up to seven students work out creative solutions to set problems and are given the opportunity to test their creative responses against those of other teams in annual competitions at the local and international levels. To date, millions of students from different parts of the world have participated in this meaningful Programme and benefited from the opportunity to extend their creativity potential and talents.
